About the event
The day-long workshop of Relational Dance Research begins with a session on Relating Self to Self through an introduction of the somatic practice of the Alexander Technique. The second session, Relating Self to Dancing, will focus on investigating and expanding your solo improv practice. Relating Self to Dancing Others, will be a facilitated Contact Improv Jam that may bring interesting duets, trios, quartets, and perspectives on your own dancing choices. Space is very limited, so registration is available to full day participants only this time, except for the CI Jam starting at 6 pm. You will not be dancing hard the whole time, IN FACT, people are encouraged to take breaks from dancing frequently and engage by witnessing.
